That's Not the Shape of My Heart.

first of all, this is one amazing song, and a crazy sad clip from a wonderful movie -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=locIxsfpgp4.

- i know that the clubs are weapons of war-

second, i'd like to pay some homage to my idol Holly Golightly and show some amazing pieces from Tiffany's.

and for now, that's it. it's time for sleep for me, and my irregular sleeping patterns are NOT doing good for my health. so tata lovelies, miss me when i'm in the Ukraine. =)

Beauty Sleep; The Real Deal.

so in our modern world, one thing people don't have time for, including themselves, each other, and good food, is sleep. it's sooo very important to being healthy, looking good, feeling good, and living long! i can't stress this enough, and i try my best-est to get the recommended amount of sleep. =)

besides, nowadays you can keep making your gorgeous self more gorgeous while you snooze away thanks to nightcreams, hair rollers, masks and leave-in conditioners. remember to moisturize your elbows, heels, hands, and where ever else you tend to be dry. flaky, dry-looking skin makes NO ONE look attractive.
apply zit cream when you see redness or swelling appear-> ProActiv's Combination Therapy Refining Mask works wonders over night; just rub some on and go to sleep.
wash your face before you go to sleep to be rid of all the toxins and oils, use a cleanser for a really nice, deep clean.
brush your teeth and lips [ it sounds crazy, but it helps get your lips plump and rosy ] and remember to floss! fresh breath may not be an aphrodisiac, but bad breath is such a repellant.
put on nightcreams for age-prevention if you need them, put on whatever your dermatologist prescribed.

now that the beauty regime has been taken care of, we need to move on to the actual sleep.
about fifteen minutes before you go to sleep, try not watching TV or your laptop. instead, drink some milk or something, but nothing caffeinated! read something nice before bed [ try to read something you can finish in that time, or else you might keep yourself awake for some extra time, wondering about the conclusion! ] daydream, think about pleasant things; BUT NOT ABOUT REAL LIFE. that counting thing people say never worked for me, but hey, try it and if it works, yay for you!

there you have it, darlings. turn off the lights and tuck in!

beware of the magazine tick!

like being the book tick, clothes tick, shoes tick, bag tick, jewelry tick, and the like, the magazine tick sucks away at your expenses like life blood until you find your salary [ or allowance ] dwindling and dwindling. magazines are an addictive substance, promising relief from daily life, insight, and tips, tips and tips! the headlines, the ads, the front pages; how can anyone resist?

but wait! don't forget this great secret to getting magazine-y goodness and saving your cash -> SUBSCRIPTIONS. every magazine comes with a bunch of little postcards inside with great deals on getting a years' worth of the magazine, almost always along with another perk; be it ANOTHER year for free, a cute bag, makeup, or something even better! buy one issue of the magazine off the stand to see if you're interested, then subscribe or not.

check out magazine.com for great deals if you're not afraid of the internet or Trojan Horse. ughh, it sends shivers down my spine!

i currently subscribe to; Seventeen, CosmoGirl!, Teen Vogue, Allure.
i want to also subscribe to; Cosmopolitan, Elle, Vogue, Self, Glamour, GL, Real Simple.

how about you?

Never Buy Full Price

okay, so unless you have a million dollar trust fund, or are just filthy rich, don't waste your time in the brand name stores, or even in Macy's!

instead, head over to my new world; Loehmann's, Century 21, and the like. the clothes are mostly brand name, and if you put effort into it, you can find amazing gems. i went today and came away with a little black dress for summer from a crap "brand" name, but it looks and feels good, three flats from Wanted, Seychelles and Anne Klein, and sunglasses from Jessica Simpson that make me feel like a star. if they were in my size, i would've snapped up a pair of Coach flats for $100, and a Juicy Couture gorgeous white skirt.

there are so many beautiful things that there must be a drawback, and sadly there is. you're not the only reccesionista who's figured out the formula to looking good and not spending a fortune. others are there too, and they can snap up your treasure faster than you can say "Miu Miu"! there can be a shortage of yummy clothes/shoes in your size, so try to get there early and work fast. but be courteous and please, don't attack the salespeople.

P.S. if you find a Sharif wallet for $15 and buy it, know that i envy you with all the fiber in my being.

xoxo, blondie.

Library Fines.

[ i keep apologizing, but honestly, this is summer, and there is no excuse for me not posting multiple entries every single day, now is there? i'm just so very sorry, and i promise to make it
up to you [; ]

i am in a depression right now. i owe my local library $24.89!!! all i can think is, aerie bra, two on sale AE tops, three almay foundations; it goes on and on and on. WHY? ughh.

so inspired by my own pain, i am reminding you beauties not to waste hard-earned cash [sob] on things like library fines. try never to get into debt, no matter how glamorous Carrie Bradshaw makes it look. for library books though, it's a simple rule; renew every visit, and every week online.

i'm still crying, which is undoubtedly making my face all red and puffy. ewwwww.

if someone licked my face right now, it'd be really salty. [where did that thought come from?]

daily to-know.

so it rained cats, dogs, and transvestites here in NYC today. i was out and about, so i of course as always have my little daily tidbits for you!

  1. head on over to spoiled pretty if you want your chance at winning seven spectacular bags along with goodies to put into them; a gym bag, an everyday bag, a weekend bag, a beach bag, a clutch, an organic bag and a work bag. [ i'm praying that i get the everyday bag, honestly. ]
  2. today was NYC's gay pride parade, and it was as loud, flamboyant and fun as ever. i came out toting a couple of wonderful friends to support the cause, and to watch the shoes, if i may say so.
  3. if you ever have the chance, check out the brownies at your local Pret A Manger. god are they spectacular!
  4. please support the honey bees. check out help the honey bees dot com for tips on how, created by the all-mighty Haagen-Dazs.

daily to-know.

don't you hate it when a website or blog goes un-updated for days or weeks? isn't it soooo boring? i know i've been doing the same thing, but no longer. now i'll have things for you everyday, things you should know, things to check out, and just facts in general.

  • if you read a magazine, never forget that it ALWAYS has a website. and that website usually has more information, stories, and often giveaways. && if you like a magazine, subscribe, don't buy issue by issue. it's way cheaper, and there are always perks.
  • American Eagle Outfitters is having a great sale, on most of the things they have in stock. check it out at your local store or americaneagleoutfitters.com
  • i'm probably a little behind, considering it happened yesterday? but little Taylor Momsen has signed with IMG. Blake Lively may be Gossip Girl's sun, Leighton Meester the ruling queen, but Taylor Momsen is its rising star.
  • the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee has some of the cutest kitties in the world; keep up with their lives too for an interesting story.

Beach Read; Pretty Little Liars.

hey girls and boys! so sorry that i've been AWOL, but my life has just swept me up [or, to be more exact, lazyness and one of NYC's cutest boys ever]. never fear, though, for i am back, and armed with a Coach Legacy bag stuffed full of great summer reads for those of you who like to think a little while bathing in the sun. here's the first.

Pretty Little Liars, by Sara Shepard.
listen, girls, this is one twisted and amazing read. you're thrust into the world of four, [ or five[; ] preppy, rich suburban girls; but in Rosewood, nothing is what it seems. Aria, Hana, Spencer and Emily used to have a best friend named Ali; and then one day, she dissapeared. After that, their whole group drifted apart. When all four of them are once again together at Rosewood, and seemingly happy, A appears. A knows things about them only Ali knew; things they don't want others to know. But Ali's supposed to be dead...

Protect Those Peepers.

your eyes can obviously be hurt from the sun too, and isn't it tedious to squint all the time outside? not to mention, even though this might be the farthest thought from some of our minds, those squint wrinkles hitting you in your fifties?
so go out there and take a lesson from the italians; never leave home without your sunglasses. even if it's cloudy, it's tres chic to wear them. [yes, i know tres is french. i'm sooo european, just throwing words in everywhere, no?[; ]
there's all kinds of options out there, in style, quality, brand and price. just remember to make sure it blocks UVA/UVB rays, along with the right look, that's the most important thing when picking your glasses du soleil.

there are aviators, perfect for that hipster-trendsetter chick or dude, ancient yet stylish and modern. [spotted; Jessica Simpson clutching her banana yellow bag in cool&&laid back aviators.]

there are the round, oval, or square large sunglasses, classic favorites of those wishing to look chic or hide from pesky paparazzi. [spotted; Anouk Aimee wearing the big glasses look Jackie O supposedly copped from her.]

many many more amazing sunglasses can be found from Chanel, Dior, Ray Ban, and that chinese man in Chinatown on the corner[; .

Summer Sun Ain't Yer BFF.

the summer is here, as i found out at the beach yesterday. if you live in NYC, you know the summer is here from the heat wave that came through this week, bringing the temperature to more than a hundred degrees.
please please please remember to stay hydrated, because the temperature makes you sweat and the sun burns you'll be getting will make dehydrate you. just drink some water, okay? it'll clear up your skin, make you feel better, and keep you hydrated, which is so very important to your health.
speaking of sun burns; guess which blonde bombshell is staying home because she's a blonde lobster? yes, you guessed right. me. i hurt all over, but at least it doesn't hurt to type.
so that you don't end up like i did, please use a daily something with an SPF of at least 15, and cover yourself with sunscreen at the beach, minimum SPF 30, more than once. it's tedious and seems stupid, but believe me, one look at me would convince you otherwise.
i think it's pointless to remind you of the dangers of the sun, because who doesn't know that the sun is out to get you these days? so do a favor to me, and more obviously to yourself; slather on the sunscreen and sip your drink.

the kind of style you just want to Gossip about.

if you don't know about the new hit show Gossip Girl, based on Cecily von Ziegsar's Gossip Girl novels, either you've been living in Fiji, or you're dead.
i don't even know what's the most entrancing about the show; the characters, the gossip, or the clothes?

well, i don't know about you, but if i'm dreaming of gossip girl, i'm dreaming of clothes for sure.

i have no patience for doing an episode-by-episode guide, but be sure i'll write more about my Girls [and the guys too, maybe]

from the very beginning, off-screen, Serena Van Der Woodsen was compared to kate moss, her clothing and character inspired by the crazy, beautiful model. she can throw on anything and look amazing, rarely planning what she is going to wear and always looking fabulous. it's just part of her charm.
Blair Waldorf is the epitome of the Upper East Side preppy, chic, clean and sexy girl. never has denim, skirt or jean, graced her legs during this season; instead, our beauty sticks to skirts, dresses, bare legs and sexy tights. she's very femenine and girly, but she also likes to spruce it up. her style is impeccable, nothing is ever out of place. you gotta love perfectly beautiful perfection, right?
little Jenny Humphrey isn't a loaded Upper East Side socialite old or nouveau riche. in fact, Jenny lives in a loft in Brooklyn and shops in thrift stores. but an eye for fashion, a talent for sowing and a yearn to be the it girl pushes Jenny to the top, finding ways to get cash for the hottest clothes, making others by hand. she takes fashion risks, and never falls on her face.

and since i'm a tired, busy [as well as lazy and genius girl] head on over to http://cwtv.com/thecw/style-gossipgirl-c to see some of the amazing pieces these three girls wear on the show.

also, since i'm feeling generous [and once again, crazy lazy] go to the site of someone not too lazy if you want to:
Dress like Blair Waldorf
Dress like Jenny Humphrey
Dress like Serena Van Der Woodsen
Dress like Georgina Sparks

Clique Much?

ciao, darlings. i know i haven't posted in a while, so forgive me?

have you read the clique series? it doesn't matter if your middle school/high school days are long behind you, or if they're currently in full swing, reading about the Pretty Committee is so for you! it's very engaging, and the adventures of the Committee will pull you in.

i love how Lisi Harrison writes some words the way stuck up girls would say them, inserting h's and stretching them out. her use of the terms alpha and beta to label the girl's positions in the clique is also genius, even though it makes me think of wolves. maybe there's the point?

full of brand names, nick names, and constant updates on the state of the union, every Clique novel is worth reading.

i have found a new lashy love.

remember my ranting and unconditional love for Dior DiorShow? well, i took the plunge off the deep end and bought some Almay mascara, and after the first day i haven't looked back.

this is an amazing product. two swipes, and my lashes are dark and full, long and thick. if i accidentally rub my eyes with my fist no flakes, no nothing. diving into the pool for a swim test and then swimming doesn't wash it off either [rigorous swimming and/or eye rubbing will move this mascara from your lashes to beneath your eyes, it's not that much of a miracle.]
the only complaint i can make, because i can never be fully satisfied, once in a while there are little clumps in my lashes, but those are easy to be rid of lickety split.

ALMAY ONE COAT NOURISHING MASCARA TRIPLE EFFECT WATERPROOF.
it thickens&volumes&lengthens, true to its promise.

i love you almay!

I Drool for Manolo.

during shop, under strain of nothing better to do, i went through my email. guess what? barneys is having a fantastic sale, and guess what section i went straight to? right -> SHOES.

just look, look, LOOK [and in my case drool] at these beauties! the Prada Victorian Pump for $525, the Prada Deco Sandal for $415, the Prada Peep Toe Pump for $365, the Prada Double Ring Sandal for $410, and the Miu Miu Dragonfly Slipback for$485.

looks like i have crazy expensive taste. [; can't WAIT until i'm a millionaire. can you?

Beauty Sleep

before i head off to snooze, i'll remind you beauties out there that sleep really does help; it's not some make-believe mothers force feed you.

lots of sleep means no dark circles, brighter skin, wider open eyes, a spring in your step, and just better over-all mood. it's just nice to sleep, no?

if i could have the perfect bed, i'd have one of those mattresses that takes on your shape, a silk pillow case, and a lavender eye mask. perfect, non?

bon nuit, ma cheries.

Let's Talk About Sex.

when i was about 12, i thoroughly latched onto Sex and the City, every Tuesday on TBS. [; i stayed up past what was then my bedtime and watched Samantha, Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte live the kinds of lives i wanted to live when i grew up; lives filled with men, money, friends, and Jimmy Choos.
sadly, i stopped watching when i started to get tired too easily and my mother caught on that not everything on the show was appropriate for a 12 year old. now, 14, i'm throwing myself back into the world of Sex. before i get to see the movie, i will go crazy on every channel with the marathons they're throwing for the movie, and just the regular episodes.

so yeah, just felt like telling you? oh, and by the way, Kim Cattrall? LOVE YOUR BOOK.

Sephora; Calendar Girls.

i just got the Sephora catalog, and not in the mail! while shopping on Friday i just grabbed one, and now i'm just sitting here, looking at the promising beauty essentials.

as i've already said, i'm a big fan of DiorShow Mascara, and now i'm itching to try DiorShow Blackout Waterproof. it seems perfect for summer, and escpecially for the last month of school, considering water fights and water bottles are weapons of choice to ward off the heat.
hello, miss sunshine, and hello, strappy tops and shorts. skin should glow, and a once-a-week scrub should take care of that. fresh brown sugar body polish looks like it should do the trick.
Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on pencil i hope won't disappoint. the color choices look fantastic, and glide-on sounds wonderful. the only downside is that waterproof isn't listed among the qualities.
Kat Von D eyeliners in Love Metal seem glamorous enough for a night out in my little Ukrainian village or a teen club in NYC.
Juicy Couture Fragrance for Women smells heavenly and feminine, but a little too sweet for a whole day of wear.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray & Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser look good enough for my daily showers and my wild hair.

and that's all for now, loves. i have to go shopping for my other pair of prom shoes; i already have the heels, now i need the flats i'll switch to when my feet start to hurt.

Bambi Never Had Lashes Like This!

Dior_Show Mascara

starting september, i've been in love with a mascara called Dior DiorShow. for 23 dollars at bloomingdales, my eyes are long, seperate, and full if i wiggle the gigantic brush; those are my lashes with Dior DiorShow.

of course, no makeup is perfect. the brush being crazy huge, it can be a little hard if you're in a rush to put it on right, and it can't hold up during one of my mid-class naps too well [ although that's just because i rub my eyes like mad after a nap [; ] it takes more than three swipes to take full and most powerful effect as well.

of course, the price does put a damper on my excitement, but as mother says, 'you only have one face; treat it with the best.'

ttfn!

First Post Ever.

hey babes. blondie here, first post ever. i've tried this blogging thing before, only in a diary way, and nooo success. who cares about some chicks' life? people want to read something interesting- me included. stuff like beauty&clothes&life are what i'd like to read about, you? there's so many great blogs out there [my abs. faves being spoiled pretty & styledash] but they speak from the POVs of adults. what about one that a teen writes? i'd like to know that. so here it is. All Blondie, all the time. as far as a first post goes, it's not very interesting and i apologize. don't give up now and keep reading. want a list of some of the things i'll write about here? i'd <3 to:

-makeup reviews, so that you don't waste your time buying things that just don't work.
-t.v. reviews, so that you know what I think about it. [;
-cool things online, cool things to buy, cool new clothes.
-books you should read, 'cause being stupid is never in style.
-just things you should know [but never anything boring.]
-natural remedies for things in life, because you know, good stuff you don't have to pay for it is fab.
-just rarely, not often, things about ma vie magnifique.

comments are always, always welcome. and if i'm wrong, don't hesitate to tell me so, loves.
